Sakura Carré Pastels, made by Sakura Color Products Corp., Japan, are semi-hard square pastels known for their smooth, soft application and rich colours. They give you the vivid look of soft pastels with much less dust and mess, which is why art students, illustrators and professional artists rely on them.

Square shape for detail and coverage
Each 8 x 8 x 60 mm square stick works two ways. Use the sharp corners for fine lines, details and hatching, and the flat side for broad strokes and large areas of colour.

Clean and easy to use
The semi-hard formula doesn’t crumble easily and leaves far less powder on your hands and paper than ordinary soft pastels.

Blend, layer and mix media
Blend with your fingers, a tortillon or a blending stump. Carré pastels also work well alongside watercolours, inks and acrylics in mixed-media artwork.
